Our UK Roundtables practice sits at the centre of our business. Our executive peer communities give operational leaders across banks, lenders and payment providers access to the people and data they need to optimise practices, improve efficiency and navigate complexity. In the UK, we run five Roundtables covering Collections & Recoveries, Customer Service & Complaints, Fraud Control, Financial Crime & AML, and Disputes, Claims & Chargebacks. Members meet in person throughout the year, supported by continuous benchmarking, member-driven surveys and industry insight that turn peer discussion into measurable improvement.

Position Summary:

The Director, UK Industry Roundtables owns and leads the UK Roundtables line of business, having accountability for its commercial performance, client relationships, delivery standards, team development and continued growth. The role combines executive-level roundtable facilitation, industry insight, benchmarking, consulting, client management and business development.

The Director is accountable for revenue growth, profitability, member retention, new member and knowledge partner sales, budget management and the delivery of a high-quality member experience. The role is primarily delivery-focused, while also carrying meaningful responsibility for prospecting, sales, renewals and identifying opportunities to expand the practice.

The successful candidate will bring strong knowledge of UK retail lending and consumer financial services operations, together with the credibility, judgement and interpersonal skills required to build trusted relationships with senior executives and create an environment in which members feel comfortable sharing experience and perspectives.

Principal Responsibilities:

Commercial Leadership and Business Performance

  • Own the strategic direction, commercial performance and day-to-day operation of the UK Industry Roundtables line of business.
  • Accountable for revenue targets, profitability, member retention and performance against budget and P&L expectations.
  • Develop and execute plans to grow the practice, strengthen member value and improve delivery efficiency.
  • Identify gaps in the market and opportunities for new roundtables, benchmarking programmes, partnerships and other practice expansion.

Executive Roundtable Leadership

  • Develop relevant, client-led agendas informed by member input, industry developments and emerging operational priorities.
  • Facilitate executive-level discussions and create an environment that encourages open, balanced and productive dialogue.
  • Use active listening, sound judgement and strong subject matter knowledge to respond to participants, manage differing viewpoints and adapt the discussion as it develops.
  • Encourage meaningful peer-to-peer exchange while ensuring discussions remain focused, inclusive and valuable to participating organisations.
  • Produce and deliver industry insight drawn from roundtable discussions, benchmarking and related research.
  • Oversee meeting planning, communications, logistics and the production of high-quality post-meeting reports and outputs.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior operations executives across banks, lenders and other financial services organisations.
  • Act as the principal relationship lead for member organisations, developing a clear understanding of their operational priorities, challenges and objectives.
  • Ensure members receive consistent value across meetings, benchmarking, research and other roundtable activities.
  • Lead membership renewal and retention activity, addressing risks proactively and maintaining strong levels of engagement.

Benchmarking and Research

  • Lead the development of benchmarking programmes and work with clients to define relevant KPIs and consistent measures.
  • Design recurring and custom studies that address member priorities and produce useful, actionable findings.
  • Oversee data collection, validation and quality assurance to support accurate and credible results.
  • Interpret benchmarking results, identify meaningful trends and deliver findings to senior client audiences.
  • Use benchmarking evidence alongside qualitative discussion to develop a well-rounded view of industry practice.

Business Development and Sales

  • Prospect and qualify potential member organisations and knowledge partners.
  • Lead sales calls and presentations, articulate the value of participation and respond effectively to prospective client needs.
  • Develop proposals, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and close new member and knowledge partner agreements.
  • Work with the Client Director and wider team to maintain an effective sales pipeline and progress opportunities.
  • Balance commercial objectives with the independence, confidentiality and member-led character of the roundtables.

Industry Leadership and Practice Growth:

  • Maintain strong knowledge of UK retail lending, consumer banking operations and financial services operations, with a working understanding of consumer lending, payments and card operations.
  • Monitor regulatory, operational and market developments affecting members and translate them into relevant roundtable and benchmarking content.
  • Identify areas where the practice can respond to unmet industry needs or extend its relevance to members.
  • Represent Auriemma Group credibly with senior industry stakeholders and support constructive collaboration across the sector.

Skills and Requirements:

  • At least 8 years of operations experience within a bank, lender, financial services organisation or management operational consulting environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK retail lending, consumer banking, and financial services operations with specific expertise in at least one of the following areas: Collections, Customer Service, Complaints, Fraud, and Financial Crime.
  • General knowledge of consumer lending, payments and card operations, with the ability to build deeper expertise across unfamiliar operational areas.
  • Demonstrable experience building relationships and influencing senior stakeholders.
  • Confident facilitation and presentation skills, including the ability to chair executive discussions and manage differing viewpoints.
  • Strong active listening skills, judgement and adaptability, with the ability to respond quickly as a discussion develops.
  • Proven commercial experience, including prospecting, sales conversations, pricing negotiation, closing new business and client retention.
  • Experience managing budgets, revenue targets or P&L performance.
  • People management experience, including performance reviews, coaching and development.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting data to identify trends, implications and actionable insights.
  • Excellent business writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and periods of peak workload.
  • Competence using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A suitable home-working environment and reliable internet connection.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK, approximately 21 overnight stays per year.
